09:27 pm: Following Em's not-so-subtle suggestion, I took an internet quiz today. It was mildly interesting. Apparently I'd have been a great husband 80 years ago...

...but I'd be an alarmingly poor wife. Not docile enough, I guess. And I clearly don't put enough time into maintaining my appearance.

In other news, I am still in Arizona, still liking my job, definitely liking my coworkers, and even liking the desert summer so far. Granted, this is high desert, so the temperature drops 30 or 40 degrees at night... I made a field trip with several people from my team this weekend -- we went to LA to help out with part of Ilchi Lee's lecture tour. Much of my work time is spent on Ilchi.com, and we are in the midst of a campaign to increase subscriptions to an inspirational newsletter I send out every week. (It's a good one, I promise! Follow this link to see some message examples, or use the subscription box on the main page...) There were two lecture events over the weekend, and lots of people subscribed to the newsletter, but there was also some time to play. I even had dinner with Kal-El and a few of his friends, and saw Alana not just once but twice! And I managed to scandalize both my bosses by wildly plunging into the ocean in my underwear (I didn't have a bathing suit with me, but was not about to let that stop me from SWIMMING!!! in the OCEAN!!!) I spent a lot of time in Koreatown (LA has the most Koreans outside of Korea), learned that "escalator" in Korean is the same word, just spelled with hangul characters instead of roman characters, and had crazy driving adventures. All in all, a satisfying experience.

09:12 pm: Lend money, and actually make a difference
I am inspired. I was just browsing other people's goals on www.43things.com (doing research for further development on ilchi.com at work, of course!) and came across a reference to Kiva.org... Look at http://www.kiva.org/about/how to see how it works, and be inspired. If I weren't broke this week I'd put in some money right this instant :)

05:23 pm: You don't smoke? You're fired!
Now that's just weird...

10:06 pm: Am I really disagreeable?
According to the Big Five personality test I just stumbled across, I'm a "O70-C17-E18-A38-N32" Big Five. Don't you wish you knew what that meant? Go ahead. Click that link :)

11:19 am: Wikidiction
I've gotten into Wikipedia this year, and a friend at work just sent me this comic:

The humor relies on two Wikipedia conventions.
First, if you type {citation needed} into an article, a small note will appear noting that that sentence needs to be properly cited.
Second, in Wikipedia, if you cannot provide a reliable third-party published source for a claim, especially contentious claims, the content is inadmissible and must be removed from the article.

Truly, WIkipedia must be classified as a minor addiction, somewhat akin to visiting the slot machines once a month.

03:49 pm: Since  I seem to like writing about the weather, let me hereby announce another shocking weather happening in this land of 300+ days of sunshine:

It's snowing!
Mind you, this is appropriate for December, but 34 degrees is still a little shocking for someone who thought she could leave her winter coat behind in New England.

No more writing, as I am trying to finish something so I can go take a short hike in the cold cloudy twilight before the light is gone. I want to be outside more.

06:52 pm: Friendsgiving
Also, here are some pictures from Friendsgiving: http://picasaweb.google.com/anevin/Friendsgiving2007
If you've never been to Friendsgiving (40 friends and friends-of-friends eat turkey on the Saturday after Thanksgiving) you should make your own. C'mon, it's fun!
